The combination of Malcolm, Shaun, Andy and their team’s acquired knowledge and experience within their own fields, coupled with their family bond, has created a unique and winning recipe for ML Builders & Sons.
Our Background
The business was founded in 2009 by Malcolm Larter, who already had many years experience as a site manager on large construction projects that varied greatly in scale and complexity. This has played a major role in creating the difference for M L Builders and Sons within a very competitive and busy industry. This has enabled our past clients to have a one-to-one relationship through management. Malcolm has set an excellent standard from our early years, right through to present day, something we will endeavour to continue in all future projects.
One of Malcolm’s aims, which often gets overlooked in today’s industry is to constantly work alongside our clients, having their interest at the forefront of his mind to achieve their dream outcome, and assist them during what can sometimes be an overwhelming experience. He is driven to create a construction environment where long after completion, you can look back with your experience with M L Builders fondly. Those years of knowledge and management have now been passed down to Malcolm’s two sons Shaun and Andy.
Meet Shaun Larter
Shaun specialises in Groundwork, Brickwork and Structural elements and has many years of experience in those aspects of construction. He has achieved NVQ Level 3 and 4 in Plant and Machinery, as well as working for many years as a bricklayer, completing many different projects of a wide variety.
Shaun’s passion for bricklaying and groundworks has contributed him to becoming heavily involved in the structural integrity of buildings, which in turn has led him to work closely with architects, structural engineers and building control officers. This helps hugely along the progress of the projects as Shaun is in constant contact with all the above, something that is invaluable to us as a company and equally to our clients.
Meet Andy Larter
Andy has gained many years of experience in construction, specifically in carpentry. Having gained a wealth of knowledge working alongside joiners and carpenters alike, creating the client’s desired outcome is among his top priorities, often offering insight and inspiration to projects along the way.
Andy prides himself on his ability to create traditional cut and pitch roofs, which over the years have varied greatly in scale and complexity. His is equally at home with the internal aspect of carpentry, always working alongside our clients to ensure their expectations are exceeded.
The rest of our valued team consists of various different tradesmen that have worked with us for a number of years, ranging from guys in their 20’s to 60s, creating a perfect balance of youth and experience! It is important that we create a happy working environment at M L Builders and Sons, and you don’t have to share the name to feel like one of the family!
